Global Data Officer, Specsavers
In the last few years Helen has embarked on an exciting global transformation role at Specsavers. Her mission is to create a strong data community culture, where siloed data and analytics practitioners across the organization come together with one strategy and help each other create a data organization everyone is proud of. Three years in, data is making a significant impact in the organisation and is driving a positive difference in people’s lives through helping improve sight and hearing; data has a prominent position at the core of the company’s long term strategy and the team won the prestigious Best Data & Analytics Team DataIQ Award this year alongside being shortlisted in two other categories. Prior to Specsavers, Helen worked in other organisations including O2, giffgaff and RAC where she has led data transformation journeys delivering actionable insight that increased sales, reduced churn and had a substantial, measurable benefit on the bottom line. She has also delivered cutting edge large scale programs managing GDPR, establishing big data environments, utilising open banking data and created a culture where data was used as the cornerstone, driving smarter decision making across the whole organisation. Outside of work, Helen dedicates time to advising boards & provides support to executive teams. She shares her passion for data & leadership through writing articles, creating podcasts, speaking at events as well as coaching individuals in developing yourself, your team and your business culture.
